Configure Gmail in Outlook 2010

To properly configure our gmail account in outlook must enter settings mail account that is at gmail.com. Option on the Forwarding and POP / IMAP, make sure they are enabled. We suggest you choose to keep Gmail's copy in the inbox so you can access your email from Gmail server.



























Now if, we configure your account in Outlook 2010 When you open Outlook for the first time see this image. (another option is to go to File / Create new account in the next step we will see this choice)


 
Select "yes" or "yes" to add a new email account. Now we enter the settings to access your email.

 
Now, if you have already been using Outlook and want to add a new email account, click File and select Add Account.
 

In some cases automatically configures Outlook only enter the name of the email account and password, click on Next.
 
Outlook now tries to find the settings for your email account.

 
 If the configuration is successful automatically. Vera next pantallaso. as we said before this happens in some cases, not so, we should do it manually. 
 
 Manually configure Outlook for Gmail

Back in the configuration screen of the account, select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.
 
Select Internet E-mail and then click Next.
 
Enter your username (email address).
Under Server Information type in the following:

  •      Account type: POP3 or IMAP, what is the difference click here?
  •      Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com
  •      Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com

Be sure to complete the data.

 
After filling the details click on the More Settings button.

 
Select the Outgoing Server tab, check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Check Use same settings as my incoming mail server is marked as well.
 
Then select the Advanced tab and fill the following information:

  •      Incoming mail server (POP3): 995
  •      Outgoing Server (SMTP): 587
  •      Check This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
  •      Set Use the following type of encrypted connection to TLS

You may also want to uncheck the box to remove messages from the server after several days. This message will remain available online from Gmail. Click OK

 
Then click Next to finish setting up your account. Outlook confirmed your account settings to make sure all is well. In successful case see the NEXT window, click Close when finished.
 
We will now see the welcome screen with a message of successful installation ... click Finish.

 
Ready! Gmail is ready to synchronize with Outlook 2010.
